STORY PLANNING

When you've finished planning your own version of a story from another culture- try this planning game. It might be helpful and you may decide you need to make changes to your own plan after this.

NATIONAL POETRY DAY

On Thursday, it's national poetry day and in celebration of this, we are going to spend the day listening to and creating our own poems.

Here are 2 of my favourites, the first one we used to read to Sam, my son when he was very little, which he loved. It's called 'The Ning Nang Nong' by Spike Milligan.

The second one is a  more recent favourite. I wonder if you can guess why? It's called 'No Breathing In Class' by Michael Rosen.

Both poems are performed by the men who wrote them.

PERSUASIVE POSTERS

This week, we will look at what makes a good persuasive poster, before we write out own ones. Have a look at these. Which ones do you like/dislike and why? But what don't they tell the reader? What extra things might you add in to them?

RECOUNTS

To start the term, I am going to want you to write a recount. This is when you write about something that has already happen to you. It will be your chance to show off all the writing skills you developed in year 2,  But first, you are going to make your own actual book to write in. With a little bit of practice, it's quite easy. This video will show you how to do it.
